How to Apply For Aadhar Card

Aadhar Card Application

The government of India has now made it mandatory to link your Aadhar card with your PAN card if you're filing returns for the financial year 2016-2017. Also, Adhar Card serves as an identity proof for individuals living in India.

If you do not have Aadhar Card, you should apply for it as soon as possible. Here's the process to apply for Aadhar Card:

Procedure to apply for Aadhar Card

- Start by finding an enrolment centre around your location. Visit https://aadharcarduid.com/aadhaar-card-center to find your centre.

- Once you've located the centre, you can book an appointment online before visiting the centre. You can visit the centre without any appointment but generally the footfall is high in these centres so booking an appointment online is recommended. You can book an appointment online here: https://aadharcarduid.com/aadhaar-card-apply-online

- Arrange the required documents which are 1 identity proof, 1 address proof and 1 date of birth proof.

- When you visit the Aadhar Centre, you will have to fill an enrolment form. This enrolment form is available online also at https://uidai.gov.in/images/uid_download/enrolment_form.pdf

- Take a print out of this form and submit it along with the supporting documents. You will also need the bio metric proof for this.

- Once the whole process is completed, you will get an acknowledgement slip covering the details of your enrolment. Your enrolment slip will contain a 14 digit enrolment number with which you can check the status of your application. You can file your ITR too using this acknowledgement ID.

- This data will be verified and validated at the central government and if all the details are right, your Aadhar Card will be sent to your registered address.
